Long Now

Post by dont_think_twice »

I'm a huge fan of the Long Now, in particular their project to build a clock that will last for 10,000 years.

This thread (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27399257) made me think of existing long term projects. Here are some of the good ones:

John Cage organ project: https://universes.art/en/specials/john- ... alberstadt: 639 year long musical piece

Cologne Cathedral, started in 1248 and finished in 1880: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cologne_Cathedral

Sagrada Familia, started in 1882, finished TBD: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagrada_Fam%C3%ADlia

Any favorites?

Any tax that government claims is temporary in nature. ;)
If you lack the vocabulary to hold a debate, it's easier just to lob a piece of concrete thru a store window.

The tax is long term by never ending.

Jeez, I hate to have to explain satire! :P
